АЗОНАЛЬНАЯ МЕРЗЛОТА ВЫСОКОГОРНЫХ РЕГИОНОВ ЗЕМЛИ (ЭКВАТОРИАЛЬНАЯ АФРИКА, АНДЫ) Шац М.М., Скачков Ю.Б.
Аннотация. В статье показано, что наряду с закономерным изменением природных условий в соответствии с законами широтной зональности, высотной поясности и меридиональной секторности, возможно их сочетание, позволяющее сформироваться очагам многолетнего промерзания горных пород в совершенно, казалось бы, неподходящих для этого явления высокогорных районах – Экваториальная Африка, Анды. Цель статьи – осветить специфику природных условий этих территорий, приуроченных к верхнему гипсометрическому уровню – высочайшим вершинам континентов.

AZONAL FROZEN OF HIGH-HEAVEN REGIONS OF THE EARTH (EQUATORIAL AFRICA, ANDES) Shatz M.M., SkachkovYu.B.
Abstract. The article shows that along with regular change in natural conditions in accordance with the laws of latitudinal zonality, altitude zonality and meridional sectorality, they might be combining, allowing the formation of concentrated perennial permafrost in what seems to be quite the phenomenon of inappropriate high-altitude areas – Equatorial Africa, Andes. The purpose of the article is to highlight the specific features of the natural conditions on these territories, timed to the upper hypsometric level - the highest peaks of these continents.

Аннотация. Для многих людей математика синоним арифметики – сухой науки, имеющей дело с цифрами и операциями над ними. В действительности, математика сродни поэзии. Арабские математики средних веков были не только энциклопедическими учеными, но и настоящими писателями и поэтами. Так многие из них писали свои научные математические сочинения языком поэзии. Они сформулировали задачи алгебры и геометрии и астрономии в форме стихотворений.

ARAB MEDIEVAL MATHEMATICS AND POETRY Mahmoud Al-Hamza
Abstract. For many people, mathematics is a synonym for arithmetic. This is a dry science, because deals with numbers and operations on them. In fact, as the great Russian mathematician Sophia Kovalevskaya said, mathematics is similar in essence to poetry. The Arabian mathematicians of the middle ages were not only encyclopedic scholars, but also real writers and poets. So many of them wrote their scientific mathematical treatises in the language of poetry. They formulated the tasks of algebra, geometry and astronomy in the form of poems.

Аннотация. Герасимов Николай Николаевич (23.05.1944 – 01.09.2001) – выпускник РТФ МЭИ, к.т.н., доцент кафедры математического моделирования МЭИ. Страстный путешественник. Побывал на Кавказе, Урале, на Камчатке в одиночку и в составе экспедиций. Прошел пешком многие десятки километров. Вел дневники, отличающиеся точностью наблюдений и лаконичностью записей математика. Публикуются впервые.

Abstract. Gerasimov Nikolai Nikolayevich (05.23.1944 - 09.09.2001) was graduate of the MEI, Ph.D., associate professor of the department of mathematical modeling of MEI. He was a passionate traveler. He visited the Caucasus, the Urals, Kamchatka alone and as part of the expeditions. He walked many tens of kilometers. He kept diaries that differ in the accuracy of observations and the conciseness of the records by mathematician. Diaries are published for the first time.
